50# @ 26" Pacific Yew Take Down Bow
55" long Pacific Yew Flatbow
Perfect for backpacking and stump shooting with judo points!
The take down is a yew, flat-limbed bow that shoots 50# @ 26". It's a very beautiful, smooth-shooting bow. Tips are handsculpted buffalo horn. It's a finely fitted take down sleeve.
I don't know how many hundreds of bows I've made. One of the things I know is that every stave presents its own gifts and challenges, a well-crafted take down bow is not a project for a beginner . This style of take down sleeve is not precisely machined so meticulously tweaking and crafting the fit so it is right was critical. It was a lot of dicking around.
The little beauty on the right is a 54" yew flatbow. So far, its a short draw at 20-22". Matched with the right arrow, it's a fun bow to shoot. It'll be a great bow to carry around in the forest for stump shooting - real fast and fun!
